Stuff Knitters Want and Gotta Have
Jewelry and Tools for the knitter who desires quality, style, function in tools. Stitch Markers, Row counter bracelets, Needle Holders and KeyChain Tools.

Ombre, varigated and painted yarns are fun to mix and match with solids for an exciting bath or kitchen ensemble. Check out the yarns at Peaches & Creme™for a large variety to mix and match.

I use
Peaches & Creme™ Blackwatch for this cloth. Though solids work well, thought this would be a good "Manly" pattern for Christmas. I have knitted this cloth for years..given them all away except for the original one! Sorry Mongo =o)

NOTE: This is a yarn-specific variant of the Faux Cable Cloth.

If so desired you can accent this cloth with a Tassel at one corner

Supplies:
1 Skein
Peaches & Creme™ Blackwatch
1 Pair size 7 (US) single point needles

No gauge is required, use larger needles for looser cloth and smaller for a more compact cloth.

Abbreviations and Terms Used:
Cast on= refer to basic knitting directions.
Garter= Knit each row.
K= Knit
P= Purl
[B]= Border

Border:
Garter Stitch for 3 rows, making a 1/2-inch border.
Note: if you like a larger border add more rows in the beginning of the cloth
and at the end. You may also want to add more stitches to make your border an
even edge around the cloth.

The faux cable pattern uses 42 stitches. It is based on a 2x2 rib. Keep this in mind when adding to the border.

Pattern:
Row 1 : K3 [B], K2, P2 across ending with K3 [B].
Row 2 : K3 [B], P2, K2 across ending with K3 [B].

Rows 4 & 6: same as Row 2.
Row 8: K3 [B], *K second stitch first then K first stitch on left needle,
P2* across end with K3 [B]. This is the right side of the pattern.
