Paniola Lace Ensemble

Paniola is the Hawaiian word for cowboy. There are some large working
ranches in Hawaii worked by Paniola's. The Hawaii'an cowboys are
distinctive for they wear Palaka ( plaid shirts ) and they had haku leis(
flowers) on their hats in shows.


Supplies:
1 Skein Peaches n Cream ™ Knitting worsted yarn
1 Pair Size 7 (US) single point needles
1 Pair Size 7 (US) double point needles
Tapestry needle
Scissors

Cast On:
Back Scrubber: 25 stitches use B2
Small Cloth: 25 stitches use B2
Medium Cloth: 29 or 39 stitches
Large Cloth: 49 stitches


Knit border for 1 inch, then begin pattern.

Pattern:


Row 1 (RS) : B4,k1.*yf.k3.sl1-k2tog-psso,k3,yf,k1*, B4.

Row 2 and all even rows: B4, purl across, B4.

Row 3: B4,k2,yf,k2,sl1-k2tog-psso,k2,*yf,k3,yf,k2,sl1-k2tog-psso,k2* end
yf,k2,B4.

Row 5: B4,k2tog,(yf,k1)x2,*sl1-k2tog-psso,(yf,k1)x2* end
sl1-k2tog-psso,(k1,yf)x2,sl1-k1-psso,B4.

Row 6: B4, purl across, B4.

Pattern consists of 6 rows.Knit till 1 border distance away from desired
length. Stop at an even row and knit border for 1", bind off and finish.


For Back scrubber:

CO: 25 stitches use B2.

Knit 1" of border and start pattern.

Knit till 16-19" then knit border. Bind off all but 3 stitches, knit I cord
for 9" bind off and sew for handle. Knit a second I-cord for 9" for cast on
edge handle.
