Picture and Sample knitted by Anita O. Yarn: Peaches & Creme™ Knitting worsted in Daisy Ombre
Makana Aloha Cloth
by Maile Mauch
*Makana Aloha = gift of love or friendship
This Makana Aloha -- Holiday Cloth 2000 -- is the cloth pattern I have been making for the Women's Shelter Gift packages this Christmas. The pattern used creates a vertical openwork texture, which would be good for any season-or reason- type cloth. My first sample of this cloth was in a "baby ombre" for a book submit. When I made it out of Peaches n Cream yarn, it reminded me of maile leis hanging down at a lei stand. Maile is the fragrant vine that you see grooms wear at Hawai'ian weddings.
Supplies:
Yarn: Peaches & Creme™Knitting worsted in ombres or solids

This cloth has a tendency to slant, some like it as knitted, others prefer to block it. For the back scrubber it is advisable to block.
