A pattern found in my old knitting notebook from 1974 from Mrs Reiko Hori a designer who had taught at Parsons School of Design, NYC, was residing in Honolulu. She became a close friend, mentor and teacher. I worked under her at Malia, Intl. as a textile designer prior to attending Parsons School of Design, NYC. Last time I saw Reiko was at Parsons, teaching pattern making, in 2001.
Supplies:
1 Skein of Peaches & Creme™ Knitting Worsted solid or variegated
1 Pair size 7 (US) Single Point Needles
1 Pair size 7 (US) Double Point Needles
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Cast On:
Back Scrubber: 22 stitches
Small Cloth: 28 stitches
Medium Cloth: 34 stitches
Large Cloth: 46 stitches
Pattern:
x6+2
Row 1: B4, K1, *YO, Sl 1, K2tog, PSSO, YO, K3, repeat from * to last st, K1, B4.
Row 2 and all even rows: B4, K, B4.
Row 3:: B4, K2tog, *YO, K1, YO, K2tog, K1, K2tog, repeat from * to last 10 sts, YO, K1, YO, K2tog, K3, B4.
Row 5: B4, K1, *YO, K3, YO, Sl 1, K2tog, PSSO, repeat from * to last 5 sts, K1, B4.
Row 6: K
Repeat pattern rows 1-6 till a border distance away from desired length. Knit border, bind off and weave in ends.
For Backscrubber:
CO: 22 stitches
B = border 4 each end.
Knit 1" of border and start pattern.
Knit till 16-19" then knit border. Bind off all but 3 stitches, knit I
cord for 9" bind off and sew for handle. Knit a second I-cord for 9" for
cast on edge handle.

Row 1: B4, K1, *YO, Sl 1, K2tog, PSSO, YO, K3, repeat from * to last st, K1, B4.
Row 2 and all even rows: B4, p, B4.
Row 3:: B4, K2tog, *YO, K1, YO, K2tog, K1, K2tog, repeat from * to last 10 sts, YO, K1, YO, K2tog, K3, B4.
Row 5: B4, K1, *YO, K3, YO, Sl 1, K2tog, PSSO, repeat from * to last 5 sts, K1, B4.
Row 6: B4, p, B4.
Repeat pattern rows 1-6 till a border distance away from desired length. Knit border, bind off and weave in ends.
